Why Denver is a Great Place to Study Environmental

Denver is a progressive, growing city in the Rocky Mountains. It is also one of the most outdoor-oriented places in the nation, so environmental protection is pretty high up on most of its citizens' lists. In a model of efficiency, the Division of Environmental Quality (under the Department of Environmental Health) overseas air and water quality standards; remedial site cleanup (Brownfields and the like); environmental compliance, management and assistance; community cleanup sites, education, and coordination; and information on pollution, sustainability, and stewardship. For the avid outdoorsman, it doesn't get better than Denver for skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, and more. And if you think Denver is all snow, think again; the average winter temperature is 45 degrees, and there are about 300 days of sunshine a year.
